My husband made some green glittered play dough by using a recipe from BBC CBeebies. Our son loves playing with play dough so we thought we could make a big mixture of it instead of using the smaller pots of Playdoh. We chose to make green play dough so our son could use it as a kind of zoo for his toy animals – the green being grass! We are going to buy some broccoli next time we go food shopping and use it as trees for the ‘zoo’ – you could even use some plastic trees if you have some at home.
Our son liked squeezing and rolling the dough as well as walking his toy animals through the dough and seeing the footprints they left behind.

Green glitter, from 100 fils shop in Souk Salmiya
3 cups plain flour
2 tbsp cornflour
1 cup salt
1 cup cold water
2 tsp vegetable oil
2 tsp food colouring or paint
Pour the flour, salt and cornflour into a mixing bowl.
Add the food colouring or paint to the water and then add the coloured water and vegetable oil to the bowl.
Mix it together until it is of a ‘doughy’ texture.
If mixture is too dry then add a little more water. If mixture is too runny then add a bit more flour.
Store the dough in an airtight container and it should be able to be used for up to a week.
*To make the play dough glittery, I added the glitter to the dough before my son played with it.
