Spinach and Banana Puree

spi2Spinach and banana is not a combination I thought would go together but after seeing this super easy recipe on my favourite baby food site, Weelicious I thought I would give it a try. I loved how simple and quick this recipe was to make, and we always have bananas in so a perfect excuse to use up a ripe banana. I wasn’t sure how Millie would react to this puree, actually I didn’t think she would be a fan of it at all, even more so as she hasn’t eaten much the past few days with teething. But how wrong was I?! She absolutely loved it! She ate 1 portion and was started fussing for more! She continued to eat another half of the second portion. A great way to get some iron in her from the spinach too! This is definitely something I will be making regularly for her.

Ingredients:

1 ripe banana

1 handful of raw spinach (roughly half a cup)

Instructions:

  • Peel banana and chop. Add banana and spinach to the blender and blend until smooth.

*Makes 2 baby portions.
