As I have mentioned before, Millie is a massive bread fan and I am continuously trying to find new foods that I can serve with some bread or toast fingers to still include a bit of variety. I came across this recipe for a pate in one of my favourite baby recipe books Baby Healthy Eating Planner for Butterbean and Carrot Pate and just had to make it for Millie! It was really easy and quick to make and all the ingredients were really cheap too!
I served the Butterbean and Carrot Pate with some toast fingers and slices of red pear. I actually dipped Millie’s toast into the pate and handed it to he, but you could also spread it onto the toast before serving. I gave Millie the pate for lunch, but she also had some on its own later on in the day – it was that big of a hit with her!
200g carrots, peeled and chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
200g tin of butterbeans
pinch of paprika
- Cook the carrots until tender.
- Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Serve with toast, bread, homemade breadsticks etc
*Our pate made 3 baby portions and it can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
